Housing association eyes Stratford development

Fri 10th August 2012, 4:49 pm

East Thames Housing Association is seeking permission to demolish a vacant office block in Stratford town centre and replace it with two new buildings containing shops and 44 flats.

According to the Newham Recorder, a supporting statement submitted to London Borough of Newham pledged the development would be designed by award-winning architects and would "enhance" the surrounding Stratford St John's Conservation Area.

The paper said council planners had set an October "target date" for a decision on the scheme.
